50 Bani & 100 Lei 2014, "650th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Vladislav I Vlaicu"

Pursuant to the provisions of Law 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, the National Bank of Romania will issue for collectors and put into circulation, on 28 April 2014, two coins: a gold coin for collectors and a brass commemorative coin for being put into circulation, both dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Vladislav I Vlaicu.

The coins have the following characteristics:

The gold coin for collectors
•Face value: lei 100
•Metal:gold
•Fineness:900‰
•Shape:round
•Diameter:21 mm
•Weight:6.452 g
•Rim thickness: –
•Quality: proof
•Edge: milled

Obverse of the gold coin: the face value “100 LEI”, “ROMANIA” inscribed in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2014” and in the background a composition representing St. Nicholas Princely Church in Curtea de Argeş.

The brass commemorative coin
•Face value: bani 50
•Metal: brass Cu80Zn15Ni5
•Fineness: –
•Shape: round
•Diameter: 23.75 mm
•Weight: 6.1 g
•Rim thickness: 1.9 mm
•Quality: uncirculated
•Edge: inscribed with “ROMANIA” twice, with a starlet between the words

Obverse of brass commemorative coin: the face value “50 BANI”, “ROMANIA” inscribed in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2014” and in the background a composition representing St. Nicholas Princely Church in Curtea de Argeş.

Reverse (common to both coins): the portrait of Prince Vladislav I Vlaicu, the obverse and the reverse of a ducat that he issued, the inscriptions “VLADISLAV I VLAICU” and “1364”, the year of his ascent to the throne of Wallachia, in an arc.

Both coins are legal tender in Romania.

The mintage of this numismatic issue is as follows:
•250 gold coins for collectors;
•1,000,000 brass commemorative coins.

The gold coins for collectors are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules. They are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The gold coins for collectors dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Vladislav I Vlaicu will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.

The selling prices for the gold coin, including the leaflet, is lei 1,520.00, VAT excluded.

The brass commemorative coins have the same technical characteristics as the current bani 50 denomination and will be circulated in parallel.

The brass commemorative coins dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Vladislav I Vlaicu will be put into circulation through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara when making cash payments to the credit institutions/ the State Treasury.

Hallo.
Ausgabepreis für die 100 Lei Münze in Gold bei der BNR 425,- Euro inkl. der 24% Steuer!
Die 50 Bani Münze ist eine Umlaufmünze. Umgerechnet kostet diese 12 Cent.
