Series :"Russia in the UNESCO World Cultural and Nature Heritage"

On April 1st 2009 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation puts into circulation commemorative coins of precious metals of the series "Russia in the UNESCO World Cultural and Nature Heritage" (Historical Monuments of the City of Velikiy Novgorod and its Environs):

- a silver proof coin of 3 Roubles denomination (fine precious metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5111-0184, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 10 000 pcs.);

- a silver proof coin of 25 Roubles denomination (fine precious metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5115-0048, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs.);

- a silver proof-like coin of 200 Roubles denomination (fine precious metal content 3 kg, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5119-0004, diameter 130.0 mm, mintage 200 pcs.);

- a gold proof coin of 50 Roubles denomination (fine precious metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5216-0070, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1500 pcs. );

- a gold proof-like coin of 10 000 Roubles denomination (fine metal content 1 kg, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5221-0017, diameter 100,0 mm, mintage 100 pcs.).

The rim is raised on both sides of the coins.

The obverse of the coins: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE ROUBLES) or "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES), or "ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ" (FIFTY ROUBLES), or "ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWO HUNDRED ROUBLES), or "ДЕСЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ" (TEN THOUSAND ROUBLES) and the year of issue "2009", between them - the indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the mint mark and the fine precious metal content. [attachment=9]5111-0184.gif[/attachment]

The obverse of the silver coin of 200 Roubles denomination and of the gold one of 10 000 Roubles denomination extra bear the ordinal number sign of the coin "№" in the lower part near the inscription indicating the fine precious metal content. [attachment=6]5119-0004.gif[/attachment]

- of the 3 Roubles silver coin: relief images of the Saint Theodor Stratilat Church at the Brook, and warriors on horses back. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top, on the arch - "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND ITS ENVIRONS), at the bottom – "Ц. ФЕДОРА СТРАТИЛАТА НА РУЧЬЮ" (THE CHURCH OF THE SAINT THEODOR STRATILAT AT THE BROOK);

The inscriptions along the rim: at the top, on the arch – "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND ITS ENVIRONS), at the bottom – "НОВГОРОДСКИЙ КРЕМЛЬ" (THE NOVGOROD KREMLIN);

The inscriptions along the rim: at the top, on the arch – "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND ITS ENVIRONS), at the bottom – "Ц. ПЕТРА И ПАВЛА В КОЖЕВНИКАХ" (THE SAINTS PETER AND POWEL CHURCH IN KOZHEVNIKI);
[attachment=1]5216-0070R.gif[/attachment] - of the 10 000 Roubles gold coin: the relief panoramic image of the Prince Yaroslav’s Court. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top, on the arch – "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ" (VELIKIY NOVGOROD AND ITS ENVIRONS), at the bottom - "ЯРОСЛОВОВО ДВОРИЩЕ" (THE PRINCE YAROSLAV’S COURT).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance at their denomination for every kind of payments without any restrictions.
