Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, on 25 March 2013, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin and a coppered tombac coin as well as a set of three coins (made of gold, silver and coppered tombac) dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies (the present-day Bucharest University of Economic Studies).

The coins have the following characteristics:

The silver and coppered tombac coins as well as the set of coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The mintage of this numismatic issue is 500 silver coins, 500 coppered tombac coins and 250 sets of coins (made of gold, silver and coppered tombac).

The selling prices are as follows:

Lei 355.00 excluding VAT per silver coin;
Lei 80.00 excluding VAT per coppered tombac coin; and
Lei 2,145.00 excluding VAT per three-coin set (made of gold, silver and coppered tombac).

The gold, silver and coppered tombac coins dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies (the present-day Bucharest University of Economic Studies) are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The collector silver and coppered tombac coins as well as the set of coins in the numismatic issue dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies (the present-day Bucharest University of Economic Studies) will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj‑Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
