In cooperation with the Croatian Monetary Institute the Croatian National Bank has issued, as part of a series of mini coins,
a commemorative gold coin marking the 200th birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of the alphabet for the blind.

The coin was minted as proof and released for sale on 26 April 2010.

The design of the commemorative gold coin is by the academic sculptor Damir Mataušić.
The issue was minted by the Croatian Monetary Institute.

200. Jahrestag der Geburt von Louis Braille
Louis Braille (1809. bis 1852.) ein Mann, der blinden Menschen ist in der ganzen Welt verdanken ihr einen Brief, und er nannte den "Vater" der Alphabetisierung für blinde Menschen. Jedes Braille Schreiben besteht aus sechs Punkten in zwei Spalten, organisiert durch drei Punkte (die sich beeindruckt oder fett), und jeder Buchstabe des Alphabets entspricht einer bestimmten Kombination dieser Entlastung Punkte. Für die Sozialisation von blinden Menschen in der Gesellschaft und ihre geistige Potential der Braille-Schrift zu erheben hat eine entscheidende Bedeutung zu.
