A gold coin to commemorate the dawn of the period of illumination
The Ministry of Finance dedicates this year's only gold coin to the Diet of 1863, which marked the beginning of regular meetings of the Diet and democracy in Finland. The gold coin will be published on 17 September 2013.
6,000 gold coins, with a nominal value of €100, will be minted and sold in two kinds of packages. 200 numbered gold coins are packed in unique collector's boxes together with a special €2 coin of proof quality commemorating the 1863 Diet. These gold coins have a sequential number stamped on the edge.

Please see below for how to order one of our special packages.
5,800 gold coins are packed in elegant boxes and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. These unnumbered gold coins can be purchased from 17 September 2013 from the Mint of Finland webstore.
Prices:
Gold coin: €350
Numbered gold coin and a special €2 coin: €600

How to order your special package – how can you buy a numbered gold coin?

The numbered coins are exceptionally sold only by orders through the telephone. The numbered coins are sold in the sequence we receive orders and, unless the buyer requests a particular number, will start from number 2. The sale period is between 9 am and 12 noon from 23 until 27 September while stocks last. Only one gold coin can be purchased per call.

The transaction can be carried out by calling +358 40 647 3449 during the above-mentioned times, with payment to be made to Nordea account FI32 2075 1800 0330 72 (BIC for international transactions: NDEAFIHH).

The transaction will be cancelled if payment has not reached our account by 4 October 2013. Please note that the transaction may take two or three banking days depending on the bank. Mint of Finland cannot take responsibility for delayed transactions. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that payment is completed in time.

Please note that our telephone line will be busy on the sale days. We want to ensure an equal opportunity to each of our customers to purchase a numbered gold coin and therefore we do not hand out queuing numbers. The special packages of the numbered 1863 Diet gold coins will, therefore, be sold in the order of calls, which depends not only on speed but also on luck. The first strike (gold coin with number “1”) will be presented to the Parliament of Finland. The gold coins numbered between 51 and 110 or those available because of a cancelled reservation will be sold to Mint of Finland's distributors.

The numbered gold coins will be shipped to buyers during the week beginning 7 October. Customers can also collect their gold coin at Mint of Finland's offices in Vantaa between 2 pm and 4 pm on Monday 13 October 2013.

If a coin is lost in the post, our insurance will reimburse the buyer for its purchase price. The amount of compensation will be the same for all numbered coins, in other words, the amount of compensation is fixed.

With the beginning of regular meetings of the Diet, the opportunities of Finns to influence affairs in their own country improved in an unprecedented way. The year marked the beginning of a period of illumination for Finnish democracy. To celebrate this, a gold coin has been minted featuring a crown and an opening curtain representing the power of the Emperor of Russia on the reverse side and a section mark on the obverse side representing the beginning of democracy.

Ist die 2 Euro Münze in dem Set eigentlich auch aus Gold und Silber?

Bei einem Aufschlag von 250€ im Gegensatz zur Gold-Einzelmünze muss das so sein
