This year's second coin series collects all BU-quality circulation coins launched in 2013 and explores their structure. There is more than meets the eye to euro coins. For example, the interior part of one and two-euro coins consists of no less than three separate layers of metal.
The structure and safety features of the coins are the result of a long development process and they protect coins from forgery. There are safety features on, for example the outer ring of two-euro coins, whose pattern varies from one country to another.
The series includes both two-euro special coins launched in 2013.
