Early July, Belgium will issue its first 2 euro commemorative coin of 2021. The coin is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the economic union Belgium - Luxembourg (BLEU)

The national side of the coin depicts the effigy of King Philippe along with the effigy of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg. On the right are the contours of the countries Belgium and Luxembourg with the text "Economic Union" and the abbreviations of both countries "BE" and "LUX". The year of foundation 1921 and year of issue 2021 are below the portraits, together with the mint master's mark and the mint mark of the Royal Dutch Mint, the Mercury staff, the place where the coins are minted.

155.000 coins will be issued of which:
- 75.000 are BU coins in a coincard (Flemish type)
- 75.000 are BU coins in a coincard (French type)
- 5.000 are proof coins in a blue box
