Children’s Coin Design Competition 2018-2020 – Mit-Tfal B’Solidarjetà/From Children with Solidarity

The Central Bank of Malta, in collaboration with the Ministry for Education and Employment and the Office of her Excellency, the President of Malta on behalf of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation is launching a coin design competition for students in all secondary, higher secondary schools and MCAST.

The competition involves the submission of art designs for three €2 commemorative coins to be issued under the programme entitled 'From Children in Solidarity'. The coin programme consists of a series of five coins with the first theme LOVE already issued in 2016, and the second, PEACE, will be issued on the 13 November 2017.

The three coins will have the following themes:

2018 - Cultural Heritage
2019 - Nature/Environment
2020 - Games

Participants, who have to be under the age of eighteen, may submit more than one design for any of the themes.

An expert panel will review the designs submitted and will choose the three winning entries for the national sides of the coins. Each winner will be given a prize for the design. A prize will also be given to the school which submitted the application of the winning student. Students will also be acknowledged as the coin designers on all the relative literature.
