The 100th anniversary of the birth of Miklós Radnóti.

"Radnóti" collector coin

On 9 May 2008, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a silver collector coin ‘Radnóti’ with a face value of HUF 5,000, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miklós Radnóti.

The obverse of the coin features the standard design elements (the denomination: 5000, the legend: REPUBLIC OF HUNGARY, the mint mark: BP and the date of issue: 2009).

The reverse bears the portrait of Miklós Radnóti in semi-profile, leaning forward. Radnóti’s signature is located to the right of the portrait, with the inscription ‘1909–1944’ below it. On the left, the signature mark of designer Gábor Gáti is positioned.
The collector coin is made of .925 fine silver, weighs 31.46 grams, its diameter is 38.61 mm and it has a milled edge.

The mintage limit is 10,000 pieces, of which 6,000 are produced using the special proof technology.

The coins can be purchased at the coin shop of the Hungarian Mint in the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s Visitor Centre (Szabadság tér 8-9, Budapest).

"Radnóti" emlékérme

A Magyar Nemzeti Bank 2009. május 19-én – Radnóti Miklós születésének 100. évfordulója alkalmából – „Radnóti” megnevezéssel 5000 forint névértékű, ezüst emlékérmét bocsátott ki.

Az érme előlapján a kötelező érmeképi elemek (5000 forint értékjelzés, Magyar Köztársaság felirat, BP. verdejegy és a 2009-es verési évszám) találhatók.
A hátlapon Radnóti Miklós előre hajló, félprofil ábrázolású portréja látható. A portrétól jobbra Radnóti Miklós aláírása és alatta az „1909-1944” felirat olvasható, balra pedig Gáti Gábor tervezőművész mesterjegye található.

Az emlékpénz 925 ezrelék finomságú ezüstből készült, súlya 31,46 gramm, átmérője 38,61 mm, széle recézett.

Az ezüst emlékpénzből 10 000 darab készül, ebből 6 000 ún. proof technikával.

Az érme megvásárolható a Magyar Pénzverő érmeboltjában (Magyar Nemzeti Bank látogatóközpont, Budapest, V. ker. Szabadság tér 8-9.).
