La Monnaie de Paris entame une nouvelle série sur les grandes causes avec l’Institut
Curie. Elle rend ainsi hommage au premier institut de recherche français contre le
cancer et aux nombreux personnages emblématiques de la famille Curie ayant marqué
l’histoire de cet établissement.
Ces monnaies évoquent les membres de la famille Curie ayant reçu le Prix Nobel ainsi
que leurs travaux scientifiques.

Große Forscher "100. Anniversaire des Instituts Curie"
beginnt die Monnaie de Paris eine neue Serie betreffend die großen Forscher mit dem
Institut Curie. Sie gibt so ihre Ehrerbietung dem ersten französischen
Forschungsinstitut gegen Krebs und an die zahlreichen symbolischen
Persönlichkeiten der Familie Curie zurück, die die Geschichte dieser
Einrichtung markiert hat.
Diese Münzen erwähnen die Mitglieder der Familie Curie, die den
Nobel-Preis erhalten hat, so wie, ihre wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten.

LA PREMIERE PIECE DE COLLECTION EN FAVEUR DE LA RECHERCHE SUR LE CANCER A l’invitation de Christophe Beaux, PDG de la Monnaie de Paris, et Du Pr Claude Huriet, Président de l’Institut Curie, Roselyne Bachelot- Narquin, ministre de la Santé et des Sports, a présidé ce matin la première frappe de la série de monnaies de collection célébrant les 100 ans d’innovation de l’Institut Curie. Cette série de prestige témoigne de l’engagement de la Monnaie de Paris dans la lutte contre les cancers.
Monnaies de collection, pièces d’exception
Ces monnaies de collection, créées par la Monnaie de Paris aux « couleurs » de l’Institut Curie, se composent de deux pièces en or et de trois en argent. Au total, ce sont 16 599 pièces qui seront proposées aux collectionneurs et amateurs.
Ces pièces de collection qui bénéficient d’un tirage limité ont un caractère exceptionnel. Le métal précieux qui les compose, le design et la finition qui les caractérisent en font des objets précieux. Ces pièces sont accompagnées d’un certificat d’origine numéroté et elles sont protégées dans un écrin. Les 5 onces argent et les 5 onces or sont numérotées sur la tranche. Les monnaies de collection ont un cours légal par décret qui les officialise, au même titre que des euros courants.
« Ensemble prenons le cancer de vitesse »
En s’engageant dans un mécénat avec l’Institut Curie, la Monnaie de Paris signe une démarche de responsabilité sociale et d’entreprise citoyenne. Les cinq pièces de prestige frappées célèbrent l’innovation initiée par Marie Curie en 1909 et perpétuée aujourd’hui encore par les 2 200 chercheurs et soignants de l’Institut Curie.
Pour chaque pièce vendue, la Monnaie de Paris reverse une partie du produit de la vente à l’Institut Curie. En acquérant cette monnaie de collection, les acheteurs se constituent une épargne solidaire de grande qualité, mais surtout, ils offrent des moyens financiers supplémentaires aux chercheurs et aux médecins pour poursuivre l’innovation au bénéfice des patients.
