Ob es im Mai wohl wieder drei 5 Euro-Münzen mit Naturthemen geben wird?
Und sind die für März vorgesehenen 5 Euro-Münzen wirklich ausgegeben worden?

MoF hat geschrieben: 2.5.2013 Landmarks of Finland Proper, Aland and Satakunta to receive their commemorative coins
Mint of Finland will publish the new provincial coins in Turku’s Market Square on 7 May!

The people of Turku will be the first to get their hands on the long-awaited Provincial Buildings commemorative coins depicting Turku Cathedral, Sälskär lighthouse and the ancient burial cairns of Sammallahdenmäki. These are the newest coins in a series that reminds us of the importance of built landmarks to the people and culture of the regions of Finland.

Mint of Finland will sell these brand-new commemorative coins in Turku’s Market Square on Tuesday, 7 May. Mint of Finland’s stall will offer both new and previously launched coins in the Provincial Buildings series, as well as other new products and old favourites from the Mint of Finland.

The Provincial Buildings coin series kicked off in December 2012 with coins depicting buildings in Lapland and Uusimaa. The rest of Finland’s historical provinces will receive their coins by the end of 2013. All the coins in the series are designed by architect Petri Neuvonen.
Long-awaited coin series continues with three new coins

Finland Proper – Turku Cathedral
The coin of Varsinais-Suomi depicts Turku Cathedral. Throughout the centuries, the national shrine of Finland has been a living part of the city’s skyline, growing with the province and its population. The cathedral was built over several stages, and its architectural influences include the Romanesque and Gothic styles.

Aland – Sälskär lighthouse
This lighthouse, ranking among the most beautiful in the Baltic Sea, is located far out on the open sea, in the straits separating the Åland Islands from Sweden. The lighthouse was first lit in 1868, but its light has now gone out. This coin pays homage not only to the lighthouse on Sälskär Island, but also to the fifty-odd other lighthouses that have guided mariners on the coasts of Finland.

Satakunta – Burial cairns in Sammallahdenmäki
Sammallahdenmäki in Rauma was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, being the most important site of Western Bronze Age Culture in Scandinavia. Many of the cairns in Sammallahdenmäki have their own names and stories. The best-known cairn, the Kirkonlaattia (Church Floor), is said to be built by the goblins of Finnish folk-lore known as “hiisi”. Sammallahdenmäki is an unparalleled site in Finland and an exceptional one in Scandinavia as well.

Runs of 55,000 UNC quality coins and 10,000 proof quality coins will be minted of each provincial coin.

This coin series that commemorates buildings takes up the theme of the historical provincial coins launched earlier by the Mint of Finland and designed by Nora Tapper. The Provincial Buildings coins being released carry the same reverse, designed by Nora Tapper, as the previous series of provincial coins.
