The obverse side of the medal features portrait of famous Czech pre-war opera singer Ema Destinnová. On the obverse side of the medal, the head of Euterpe, muse of music and lyrics, emerges from a string music instrument.
The motif of the medal is complemented with leaves and fruit of laurel as a symbol of fame. Academic painter Oldřich Kulhánek is the author of the design.
