On 10 May 2006, the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation the first gold commemorative coin from its Industrial Heritage Sites cycle: “National Heritage Site – Hand-Paper Mill at Velké Losiny” with a face value of CZK 2,500. The coin was minted by the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou from 999.9 purity gold in two quality versions – normal and proof (high polish and matt relief). The two versions differ also in their edges – the normal quality coins have milled edges and the proof-quality coins have plain edges. The coin has a diameter of 22 mm, a weight of 7.78 g and a thickness of 1.45 mm.
The centre of the obverse side of the coin depicts a composition of heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms of the Czech Republic. The large Czech lion in period depiction is in the middle, with the Moravian eagle on the right and the Silesian eagle on the left in contemporary depiction, in negative relief and located in square shields. Written on two lines below the heraldic animals is the name of the state “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA”. The heraldic animals and the name of the state protrude from the coin’s centre to the ring separated by an astragal. The ring features the unclosed text of the name of the cycle “KULTURNÍ PAMÁTKY TECHNICKÉHO DĚDICTVÍ“. The bottom edge of the coin bears the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “2500 Kč” on the ring. The mark of the Czech Mint, which minted the coin, is positioned in the centre of the coin below the Moravian eagle.
The centre of the reverse side of the coin features a period engraving of a scene from the Renaissance hand-paper mill. The left-hand upper edge features the building of the Velké Losiny hand-paper mill and the right-hand lower edge the Žerotín lion watermark used on the hand-made paper from this mill. All the illustrations protrude from the coin’s centre to the ring separated by an astragal. The left-hand, upper and right-hand edge of the coin features the unclosed inscription “PAPÍRNA VE VELKÝCH LOSINÁCH” and the bottom edge of the coin features the year of mintage “2006” bounded on both sides by a small plant decoration. The coin was designed by Luboš Charvát, whose mark – the stylised interlinked letters “LCH” – is located at the lower edge of the coin, to the left of the plant decoration.
Each coin comes with a red postcard-sized catalogue card. The relief of the coin is dry-stamped through gold foil. The text is given in Czech and English. The card is the same for the normal-quality and proof-quality coins.

On 11 October 2006, the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation the second gold coin from its Industrial Heritage Sites cycle: “National Heritage Site – Klementinum - Observatory”. The coin is minted in two quality versions differing in surface treatment and edge marking. The normal-quality coins have fields and reliefs of the same polish and milled edges. The proof-quality coins, intended for the most discerning collectors, have highly polished fields, matt reliefs and plain edges. The edge of the normal-quality coin is plain. The normal-quality coins and the proof-quality coins are minted from 999.9 purity gold. The coin has a weight of 7.78 g, a diameter of 2 mm and a thickness of 1.65 mm. Similarly as with any other coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and the gold content of 0.01% are allowed.
The obverse side of the coin depicts heavy rain falling from baroque stylised clouds. The left-hand edge of the rainfall bears the denomination of the coin “2500” stylised into the lines of a measuring cylinder. Located to the right of this rainfall is the abbreviated monetary unit “Kč”. Situated above the baroque clouds are stylised heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms. The ring features the unclosed text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” and the name of the cycle “KULTURNÍ PAMÁTKY TECHNICKÉHO DĚDICTVÍ”. The mark of the Czech Mint is positioned on the right-hand side of the coin above the stylised clouds.
The reverse side of the coin features the astronomical tower of the Observatory at Prague Klementinum. The left-hand and right-hand lower edges of the coin feature the year of mintage “2006” divided by the astronomical tower. A stylised astronomical measuring apparatus issues from the top of the tower. The left-hand upper edge of the coin features a stylised comet path from the book “Descriptio cometae” by Tadeáš Hájek from Hájek. The ring of the coin features the description “OBSERVATOŘ PRAŽSKÉ KLEMENTINUM”. The coin was designed by Josef Oplištil, whose mark – the stylised interlinked letters “OJ” – is positioned at the right-hand upper edge of the coin

The bottom part of the coin depicts three miners working in the mine within an oval medallion. Written on a ring in the form of a cogwheel is the name of the mine: “ŠEVČINSKÝ DŮL*PŘÍBRAM*BŘEZOVÉ HORY”. The coin was designed by Luboš Charvát, whose initials – the stylised interlinked letters “LCH” – are located above the right-hand upper edge of the engine room.

The proof-quality coins, intended for the most discerning collectors, have highly polished fields, matt reliefs and plain edges. The edge of the normal-quality coin is plain. The normal-quality and proof-quality coins are minted from 999.9 purity gold. The coin has a weight of 7.78 g, a diameter of 22 mm and a thickness of 1.55 mm. As with any other coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and the gold content of 0.01% are allowed.
The obverse side of the coin depicts the facade of the water mill at Slup and stylised heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms. Written around the left-hand, bottom and right-hand edge of the coin is the name of the cycle: “KULTURNÍ PAMÁTKY TECHNICKÉHO DĚDICTVÍ”. The name of the state “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” and the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “2500 Kč” are located below the facade of the water mill. The mark of the Czech Mint is positioned near the bottom edge of the coin between the denomination and the second word of the cycle’s name.
The reverse side of the coin features a set of four mill wheels, with the period coat-of-arms of the water mill at Slup located above it. The left-hand, upper and right-hand edge of the coin features the inscription “VODNÍ MLÝN VE SLUPI” and the year “2007”. The coin was designed by the sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů. His mark – the interlinked letters “FZ” – is located below the coat-of-arms of the water mill.

As with any other coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.062 g and the gold content of 0.01% are allowed.
The obverse side of the coin depicts a side view of the Chain Bridge at Stádlec. Located above it are stylised heraldic animals from the large national coat-of-arms. Written around the left-hand, upper and right-hand edge of the coin is the name of the cycle: “KULTURNÍ PAMÁTKY TECHNICKÉHO DĚDICTVÍ”. The name of the state “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” is situated at the left-hand bottom edge of the coin, and the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit “2500 Kč” are at the right-hand edge of the coin. The mark of the Czech Mint is located below the abbreviated monetary unit. The whole circle of the obverse side of the coin is bordered by an astragal.
The reverse side of the coin depicts a front view of the Chain Bridge at Stádlec. The year of completion of the chain bridge is given in Roman numerals “MDCCCXLVIII” above the front pier of the bridge. The upper and bottom edges of the coin feature the unclosed text “ŘETĚZOVÝ MOST VE STÁDLCI”. The year of mintage “2008” is located near the bottom edge of the coin above the words “VE STÁDLCI”. The coin was designed by Luboš Charvát, whose initials – the stylised interlinked letters “LCH” – are located next to the left-hand side of the pier.

Na umělecký návrh deváté zlaté mince z cyklu „Kulturní památky technického dědictví“ věnované hamru v Dobřívě byla vyhlášena v prosinci 2008 celostátní neomezená anonymní soutěž s uzávěrkou dne 27. února 2009. Vyhlášení soutěže bylo veřejné, prostřednictvím ČTK a internetu. Všem členům Asociace umělců medailérů, uměleckým školám a těm, kteří se již účastnili některé soutěže na české pamětní mince a mají o ně nadále zájem, byly soutěžní podmínky zaslány přímo.
Soutěže na zlatou minci se zúčastnilo 20 autorů, kteří předložili celkem 30 návrhů. Předložené návrhy hodnotila Komise pro posuzování návrhů na české peníze dne 10. března 2009 v České národní bance za přítomnosti stálého odborného poradce pro cyklus zlatých mincí Ing. Karla Zeithammera.
Jeden návrh byl z dalšího hodnocení vyřazen pro nedodržení předepsaných textů a zbývající návrhy byly hodnoceny v rámci tří soutěžních kol. V prvním kole bylo vyřazeno 16 návrhů, a to zejména pro nedostatečné vystižení zadaného tématu a přílišný důraz na architekturu budovy na úkor zobrazení technické podstaty hamru, případně z důvodu nepříliš zdařilé kompozice, modelace či písma. Ve druhém kole bylo oceněno osm návrhů, které byly výtvarně na vyšší úrovni a lépe vystihovaly podstatu technické památky.
Do třetího kola postoupilo pět návrhů, které byly podle mínění komise na nejvyšší úrovni a nejvýstižněji zobrazovaly zadané téma. První cenu a doporučení k realizaci komise udělila návrhu akademického sochaře Jiřího Harcuby. Návrh ocenila zejména pro dokonalé vyřešení plochy obou stran návrhu ve stylové jednotě a pro neotřelou kompozici a originální modelaci zvýrazňující dynamický charakter hlavních atributů technické památky. Druhou cenu obdržel návrh akademického sochaře Jaroslava Veseláka pro celkově velmi dobrou kompozici mince a vyjádření dvou důležitých prvků typických pro hamr. Třetí cenu získala kombinace dvou návrhů akademického sochaře Zbyňka Fojtů za pečlivé a profesionální provedení obou stran. Návrhy MgA. Martina Daška a pana Jana Smrže získaly ve třetím kole mimořádnou odměnu.
Bankovní rada se na svém zasedání dne 16. dubna 2009 nepodpořila názor komise a rozhodla o realizaci mince podle návrhu akademického sochaře Jaroslava Veseláka. Emise mince se předpokládá ve druhém čtvrtletí roku 2010.

The Czech National Bank is today putting into circulation the eighth gold coin from its Industrial Heritage Sites cycle: the Wind Mill at Ruprechtov, the only wind mill in the Czech Republic equipped with a Halladay turbine. The gold coin has a face value of CZK 2,500 and its mintage is limited to 3,500 normal quality coins and 10,500 proof quality coins. It was designed by the sculptor Jiří Harcuba. The obverse side of the coin features a composition of heraldic animals depicted one above the other. The Czech lion is on top, with the Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle below. The reverse side of the coin features the wind mill at Ruprechtov in the middle of the coin field. On the day of issue, the Czech National Bank organised an official unveiling of the coin at the Technical Museum in Brno, attended by CNB Bank Board members and representatives of the city and the region.
The coin is part of the Industrial Heritage Sites cycle, which reminds the public of unique industrial heritage sites in the Czech Republic. The cycle comprises ten gold coins gradually issued over 2006–2010. In selecting the heritage sites, emphasis was placed on their diversity and on the representation of various regions. The coins issued in 2006–2009 have featured motifs of the Hand-Paper Mill at Velké Losiny, the Observatory at Prague Klementinum, Ševčiny Mine at Příbram-Březové Hory, the Water-Mill at Slup, the Chain Bridge at Stádlec, the Brewery at Pilsen and the Elbe Sluice under Střekov Castle. The cycle will be completed next year with coins featuring the largest manufacturing hammer in the Czech Republic, located in Dobřív, and Michal Mine at Ostrava, the first fully electrified mine in the Czech Republic.

Each coin comes with a red catalogue card with a description and relief representation of the coin.
